Sala A. Menaya-Merritt has been a resident of Asheville/Buncombe County for approximately 5years.

Is an entrepreneur and owner of 2 businesses, It’s Amira M, LLC and AmiraImage Consulting, LLC.

It’s Amira M, LLC specializes in custom accessories and AmiraImage Consulting, LLC specializes in consulting in local government work, Human Resources and Criminal Justice.

She currently is a part of the local City of Asheville, Reparations Process, serving as a Facilitator in the Criminal Justice Impact Focus Area.

She has spent over 25 years working in the justice system in California, Louisiana, Savannah, GA and most recently for Buncombe County at the Justice Resource Center.  Her background includes non-profit work related to racial justice and overseeing the grant research, writing and oversight process.  She has experience in human services, community engagement, program development and implementation.  

Mrs. Menaya-Merritt has served on several local boards in the past SPARC Foundation, Haywood Street Congregation and the Kairos Advisory Board - a prison ministry at Swannanoa Correctional facility for women.

But, her biggest passion is doing the work that she loves and being an entrepreneur.

 Mrs. Menaya-Merritt states : “Everything that I have done up to this point has prepared me to do the work that I’m engaged in. Being an entrepreneur is a dream come true! Choosing me was the best thing I could have done for myself and my future.”
